FOLK GUIDE TO EAST LONDON PART 11
Sunspel

Sometimes we at Folk like to look in other shops, I know its hard to believe and every now then buy the odd bit from other places (not very often!) though one place that we have a soft spot for is Sunspel, just down the road from our Dray Walk store on Redchurch st.
Sunspel have been creating timeless classics for the last 150 years, yep that is a very long time indeed. They have been making the finest English underwear and t-shirts since 1860. In 1947 they introduced the boxer short to the UK, they have been around the block and certainly know where it’s at when it comes to quality basics.
Though their first standalone store has taken a little longer and it was well worth the wait. Sitting opposite the Albion café at the Shoreditch high st end of Redchurch st, the small but perfectly formed store housing all the classics you expect from Sunspel. Their classic t shirts and boxers sit effortlessly next to their new additions of fine gauge knitwear and beautifully made cut away collar shirts as well as piles of second hand Levi’s to compliment the brands understated elegance and timeless aesthetic.
Put it this way even James Bond has been known to wear the classic white T’s so get yourself in there.
