Folk x Harry Duley | New Collaboration
We are delighted to be working with Harry Duley, the expert base layer designer beloved in the yoga and fashion world. Together, we have created a simple capsule line that catches her key styles in monochrome colour ways. We caught up with her to ask more about the way she works and what's important in modern basics.
Why is Folk a good brand fit for you?
I love the Folk ethos “making clothes to last with minimum impact in mind. Buy less, buy better, by Folk.” These reflect my values. Folk understand simplicity, especially important in my collections. Their lifestyle belief that it is all about balance ~ Folk portray this very well.
The pieces for the Folk collaboration are simple, comfortable styles for everyday living. They can be worn together or as separates. Through the minimalistic design, with no extra seams or detailing, each piece is designed to move with you. The leggings and trousers have my signature double lined waistband (without elastic) for comfort and a smooth shape. The high stretch content is important for movement. They’re so comfortable you almost forget you’re wearing them.
What are you most proud of within the collection?
I am proud of the versatile aspect of this collection, combined with the high-quality fabric for longevity. Perfect for Yoga, lounge, sleep & everyday layering.
Describe the efforts you have made to keep these garments environmentally conscious?
All our garments are manufactured in the UK. We work with one family owned and run factory in Nottingham that has been manufacturing jersey garments for over two decades. I have used organic cotton / bamboo viscose for its natural, breathable and antibacterial properties. The fabric is carefully sourced from a UK supplier who monitor their supply chains, standards & certifications. Knitted & dyed in Turkey and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. The fabric I use for the leggings and trousers is knitted & dyed in the UK from 88% Cotton, 12% Elastane. The High-quality cotton is sourced in Europe. The fabric is dyed in the UK on the only Pad Batch Dyeing machinery in the country - this process is more gentle than other methods.
